What Users Are Saying
I love my Marlin Power paddle. It is very versatile and can be used as an assist along with peddling my Outback, solo propulsion, or repositioning my kayak quickly. It’s been a life saver in heavy wind and current as well.
- Jon PickerThe Texas Power Paddle units are a key component to a successful day on the water for me and my clients. They allow us to cover so much water, while keeping our energy up and any fatigue at bay. What I love is how easy the unit is to use. The integrated design for the Hobie platform not only makes transport simple, but also alleviates any bulky extras that are required from alternative propulsion systems currently on the market. Literally, we take the kayaks off the trailer, plug in the battery pack, and we're off. Whether I'm taking out a first time kayaker, or a repeat client; a simple turn of the knob gets us up and going. More time fishing, more time exploring, more time.... period! If you're in the market for a dependable motor that adds a dose of instant fun, look no further. Capt. Matt Murphy No Wake Coastal Guide Service
I absolutely love this unit! The battery life last for days and I love the propeller on my rudder allowing me to have at all times. This unit gives me enough speed to go the distance when needed! You will not be disappointed!!
First off I just want to say how much I love my new TPP! My wife and kids bought it for me for Christmas after I did a ton of research. I fish the flats and mangroves here in florida all the time and wanted something for those longer trips to be able to relax on the way back but still be able to use my 360 drive and my micro power pole. I didn’t want any crazy contraption hanging off the back of my Hobie Pro angler 360. I wanted to keep that sleek look and not have a ton of things I needed to setup in order to get out on the water. I couldn’t find anything! Until I came across the TPP! It’s like you read my mind on what I was looking for. The replacement rudder was easy to install and run a couple of quick wires. You can’t even tell I have a motor on my kayak. It’s allows me to still fish with my buddies who don’t have a motor (who will be buying one ASAP now that they have tried out my TPP) without leaving them too far behind. It’s exactly what I was looking for in an east to use, easy to setup motor. People can’t believe how quick and easy it is to just grab my battery box and plug in the two wires and good to go! It’s amazing how shallow this setup will run and paired with the kick up rudder I have put it to the test. I have even towed around a buddy for a few hours with no issues. Battery life is amazing! I already have a couple friends who have purchased one and a friend who purchased 2 of them. I couldn’t be more happy with my purchase and the customer service is top of the line. Thank you for my TPP! image0.jpegimage1.jpeg Sent from my iPhone
This motor is way ahead of its time. 10 minutes to set up I do recommend watching a video to make your life a little bit easier. once it is installed it's cake. I'll run you through how easy it is when I get to the ramp so unlike most motors you have to put your motor on your kayak unless you keep it on there which most people don't especially when you're traveling but the cool thing about Texas power paddle is it can stay on and no one even knows it exists it's part of your rudder it is your rudder. So I take my battery pack which is a very small waterproof and shock-proof box I have a hobie PA-12 and as you know hobbies and most kayaks have bungies on the back I have them crossed to where I can put that box underneath them I keep both of my wires one going to the motor and one going to the control close by I go ahead and put the connections to the box Then I open the box and turn the switch on and it will be back you telling you that everything is good and that is ready to go it will tell you battery percent which is very helpful through the day. I have fished many of tournaments with it but the big thing is everybody wants to know speed and battery life well it has a 40 amp hour battery which in today's time doesn't seem very much but with this very efficient motor it works great. So I finished the kayak Bassmaster classic on chickamauga which was a two-day event both days 8 hours a piece. The first day I raced to my spot not letting up I put the Texas power paddle on high and I kicked the whole time and I kept a consistent 4.7 to 5 miles per hour . As the day went on I mainly just motored around maybe lightly kicked here and there with the motor on high and a fully loaded kayak I kept a consistent 3.6 mph with a light kick I was at 4.4. after a full 8 hours my trip was 10.2 mi I had 50% left on my battery now what I have noticed is when you're at your 50% mark you cannot run on high without it beeping at you which is telling you you need to start heading back. But obviously I couldn't so I put it on halfway and it went for the last 2 hours of the tournament which it accomplished with ease I did the same thing the next day for two days a total of 22 mi and of course I did charge it The night in between tournament days. Also it does not change the speed if you don't use a motor and pedal it's a very dynamic system. I also took it down to Guntersville and was in some pretty thick grass most motors do not like grass which this one didn't neither but it has a cleaning feature which is amazing and works flawlessly All you do is turn your knob all the way to the left and it sends a full thrust and reverse cleaning the prop and you can do it as many times as needed I use this feature many times and love it.
